Bill Wright
Founder & Treasurer
Bill Wright co-founded the Bellingham Linux Users Group in 1998 and helped organize the very first LinuxFest in 2000. He has served as BLUG and LFNW's Treasurer ever since, has also held the title of LFNW President, and remains a visible presence for the fest — representing it at tables at other community events. In 2016 he received the Cascadia Community Builder Award, presented at SeaGL, recognizing his work as a founding organizer of LinuxFest Northwest; the nomination was put forward by William Hale.
Before his open-source involvement, Bill came to Bellingham as a Western Washington University student and was hired by the Great Northern Railroad in 1968, well before getting into Linux and open source in the late 1990s.
