John was there from the very first fest in 2000, making him one of LFNW's founding organizers — per current board members' own account. Public press coverage of his organizing role is easiest to trace from around 2012 on, but he's been a fixture at BLUG and LFNW events the whole way through. He's professionally connected to Peak Services Inc and VAULTechnology, LLC, both based in Bellingham, and has given BLUG talks on topics like serverless computing and Linux command-line tools.
