Anti-Harassment Policy

Draft — pending board review. This expands on the harassment-related points already in our Code of Conduct into a dedicated policy with a clearer reporting path, matching the practice at comparable events.

LinuxFest Northwest is dedicated to a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, or technology choices. This policy applies to organizers, volunteers, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors, and attendees alike, everywhere at the event — including the expo hall, session rooms, and any official social gatherings.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to: offensive verbal comments, deliberate intimidation, stalking or following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, unwelcome physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Exhibitors in the expo hall are also expected to avoid sexualized imagery or material at their booths.

If you are experiencing or witnessing harassment, find any volunteer (look for the red shirts) or an organizer, or reach out to info@linuxfestnorthwest.org. Participants asked to stop a harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including a warning or removal from the event.
